Fat, calories, carbs what's the truth?

Hi all, my name is Tina and I have a few questions.

With so many diet plans how can anyone tell which ones are good? Does eating less fat help if you still eat the same amount of calories? Can you eat fewer calories and eat more fat? Are carbs good, bad or is it all about the calories, or the fat?

I'd like to know for certain what really counts when it comes to dieting. Nice site by the way, looking forward to meeting everyone.

If you have time, go to mercola.com and search 'Sally Fallon:. (you can usually find 'search' on the page or pull up an article and it should be at the top of the page) Then read 'Learn the Danger's of Modern Low-fat Diets' She has researched and has written 'Healthy Traditions' and can answer your questions. It's not a quick fix but no diet really is. She will give you a lot of information in her book.
